Competition

I believe that many people who participate in sports or other competitive activities, naturally have a sense of competitiveness. Often people choose their activity based on what they are good at. In number 32, I agree with the statement that says you enjoy competition in areas where you excel. I chose running because I am not good with sports that involve a lot of coordination. I enjoy to compete in cross country because it is something, in my opinion, that I excel at ,and it makes more enjoyable when I do well in races. Like Ellen said, competition is fun if your successful, because if your are successful. Even though winning isn't the most important thing, it is still fun to win, and nobody really likes to lose.
The whole point of a competition is to be rewarded in the end, with either a medal, a good score or time, or just rewarded with the fact that you are proud of yourself. If you do bad in a competition, you do not get the satisfaction of these things, which is what makes all the hard work worth it. If awards were just handed to anybody, then your hard work would mean nothing and there would be nothing in the competition to enjoy if the end result is the same. Like Matt said, it is better when you earn things, because if nothing was earned for accomplishments, then there would be no point putting effort into actions.
Competition helps you with your successes. The competition is what pushes us to excel. When people excel, they are most likely to be happy about their success. I agree with Sara when she says competition improves people. Its the competition that helps everyone improve to their best. If nobody was ever motivated to do their best, then everybody would be average at everything and have no successes in life. Its the competition that gives us the excitement of accomplishing a victory.
Everybody wants to succeed at their skill. For example, in gym class, when ever we are participating in a sport, there is always at least one person who is really good at the activity and decides to show off their skills in front of everyone. Everybody has something they are good at, and when they find it, they want to show others and compete against them to show themselves and others their success. I think everybody enjoys some form of competition, especially when the competition involves an activity that they do well.
