Statement 32

I agree with Spencer when he says he would try and get away from his parents wrath. I agree that I would get away from my parents at first but the reason why I do it is different. When my parents are angry they have a tendency to say things that they don’t really mean. This causes tempers to flare and that always ends in a bad way. Getting my parents full wrath wouldn’t help me because I might hear things that were just said in the heat of the moment. That is why I don’t fully agree with Spencer because I believe getting my parent’s full wrath would not be beneficial to me.
Statement number 32 is something that I am very passionate about. It says, “You enjoy competition in areas where you excel.” I am a very competitive kid in almost everything that I do. That is how I was raised; I was always competing with my friends and my family. Whether its sports or just an argument, I like to compete with others. In areas that I excel at, I invite the competition on me. I like earning things and I hate it when things are just handed to me. If I worked really hard and blew away the competition, then that is different because I earned that. If I blew the competition away without trying then I don’t get any sense of accomplishment. It’s the competition that makes things fun. If someone is working harder and harder to reach that goal of beating out their competition, then the feeling when you reach that goal is indescribable.
Furthermore, it is the competition that makes me better. If there was no one to push me and make me want to try harder then I wouldn’t be as skilled at things as I am now. When I was younger I would always play sports with my family. My brother is three years older than me, so he is three years better at every sport than I was. Since he was so much better, I had to try harder and harder to try and keep up with him. It was impossible to catch up to his level because he was so much farther than e but I was determined to beat him. The competition that he gave me pushed me harder and turned me into the hard worker that I am now. Without that competition I would not have the same talents that I do now and I give my brother a lot of credit for that.
It is not only sports where the competition is helpful. In school there is a lot of competition between students to get higher grades. If I didn’t have that competition I don’t think I would put so much effort into school. Everything that I do well I have competition in and I don’t believe that is a coincidence. I believe that the competition is the reason why I excel. I am able to use the competition to push me harder at everything. I believe that I enjoy this competition because it makes me better at everything that I do.
